Deadline: August 16, 2012
Marie Curie Action is a research grant scheme which funds pre, post doctoral researchers and experienced researchers in Europe. International Incoming Fellowship (IIF) is one of the fellowship programs of Marie Curie Action.
This is the call for IIF 2012. (IIF) aim is to draw in top class experienced researchers active in third countries to undertake research projects in Europe with a view to developing mutually -beneficial research cooperation. The IIF consists of a financial support for projects of a period of two years maximum. Its indicative budget is about €40 million.
The financial support for an IIF takes the form of a grant covering up to 100% of the budget. It includes in particular a yearly gross living allowance of €58’500 + a mobility allowance for an experienced researcher.
Eligibility–
- Researchers of any nationality active or recently active in Third Countries are eligible for an IIF. That means neither country from EU Member States nor from Associated Countries.
- To apply, one must have either a doctoral degree or at least 4 years’ full -time equivalent research experience, after obtaining a degree permitting him/her to embark on a doctorate. But that is the minimum. The more experience one has, the better will be his/her chances of being accepted for this action.
- The application for an IIF should be made in liaison with the organization or institution that would be willing to host you in Europe. Host organizations can be universities, research centers or companies.
- All areas of scientific and technological research that are of interest to the EU may be eligible for IIF funding. But there is one exception: research areas covered by the EURATOM Treaty cannot be funded.
