The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Abus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) have issued call for applications for OFID postgraduate fellowship. It is a joint program offering fellowships and research/training opportunities to PhD students enrolled in universities in developing countries within areas of ICTP’s scientific and technical competence.
Entitlements – EUR 1,400 per month during each stay at the host institute as well as the costs of travel and medical insurance.
Fields of study – Physics, mathematics, earth science, information and communication technology, renewable energy, and related areas (any of the ICTP fields of research).
The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) is the development finance institution established by the Member States of OPEC in 1976 as a collective channel of aid to the developing countries.
Eligibility Criteria
- PhD students from developing countries (except OPEC and OFID member countries).
- PhD students who are supervised by an ICTP Associate are encouraged to apply.
- Fellowships are awarded on a merit basis, priority will be given to researchers from least developed countries.
