The Diplomat Fellowship Program – a platform for youth concerned about the social challenges and with ideas to address them invites interested candidates to spend 12 weeks with like-minded people. If you are passionate about implementing your solutions for the existing social problems in urban communities, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria and begin with the online application form. The Fellowship is a structured program that includes cohort meetings and seminars, a mid-project evaluation, and a final project presentation at the end of the summer.
The Diplomat Fellowship Program aims to produce the next generation of thought leaders who will change local communities and, in turn, the world. Up to 20 students will be selected to become the fellows for 2015 program. The fellows will identify, summarize and analyze publicly available research pertaining to social innovations and their effectiveness during the program. They will work to create a sustainable solution to a specific, well-defined social challenge using the research findings. The fellows should work up to 30 hours a week on their social venture.

Each fellow will be provided with housing and a $4000 stipend over the fellowship program towards travel, meal and other expenses. Upon completion of the fellowship, a certificate will be awarded.
Fellows’ Responsibilities
- Identify, summarize and analyze publicly available, relevant research conducted to date.
- Create a solution that can be replicated for a well-defined social challenge in an urban environment.
- Outline recommendations for further study and research.
- Make recommendations on policy implications of the research.
- Draft white papers, along with presentations for dissemination to sector.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant can be a graduate student, an undergraduate student or a recent college graduate within six months of beginning the Fellowship.
- Applicant may belong to any nation in the world with no restriction of citizenship.
- Applicants must have a specific social impact area of interest they are passionate about commencing.
- Applicants should have good thought leadership, writing, research, communication and presentation skills.
- Project proposal should demonstrate the following
- Program area the candidate is interested to work on
- Research interest statement
- Reason behind having passion about that particular area
- Need for the innovation
- Project description
- A list of additional funding or necessary resources that may be needed
