Bioversity International and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC)/Benin; in collaboration with Helsinki University, Finland, are recruiting a talented scientist for a partial sponsored PhD fellowship on food security and nutrition, Benin. The research will be conducted, in the framework of the project “Enhancing Food and Nutrition Security of Vulnerable Groups in Communities in Benin through Increased use of local Agricultural Biodiversity”, supported by the Government of Finland.
Eligibility-
- This call is open to nationals of Benin.
- Be an Agricultural Engineer, with an MSc degree or its equivalent (DEA) in Nutrition and/or Food Science
- Good Knowledge of nutrition and food technology
- Knowledge of relevant research methodologies, including laboratory analysis field surveys and data analyses
- Willingness and ability to stay and work in rural areas
- Ability to work among bilingual groups (French-English) and have a acceptable command of English (speaking and writing).
- Ability to communicate in the local language “Sahoue or Fon” of the research site will be a vital asset
- Availability to take up the fellowship immediately after being selected
