NGOs can seek funding from this Foundation during any part of the year. It has several funding programs providing support to organizations worldwide. Under its Regular Projects, NGOs can apply for funds on peace and security, globalization and promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and other countries. The Pacific Island Nations Fund is aimed at supporting initiatives in the Pacific region in the areas of education, culture and networking. To foster better relations between Japan and China, the organization has the Japan-China Friendship Fund and the Central Europe Fund. They also encourage civil society partnerships in these countries. The Pan Asia Fund of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation provides opportunities for individuals and organizations in Asia to undertake exchanges, develop human resources and undertake research.
