There are dozens of United States-based international organizations working on various projects and issues in developing countries. Many of these organizations have been funded by USAID. However, for many different purposes, local NGOs and development professionals may be interested in seeking information about US organizations working in their countries and the types of projects they have been supporting or implementing. Local NGOs may also be interested to develop partnerships with these international organizations and benefit from their technical and financial support since for them directly accessing the resources of the ‘mighty’ USAID can be just impossible. USAID has a service called the “US PVO Registry.” Here PVO means Private Voluntary Organization, the name given by USAID to local and international NGOs. The US PVO Registry is easy to use. Pick the country from the first list and then the issue from the second list and there we have the international organizations listed. We can also get to know their activities in any particular country. The US PVO Registry can be accessed at this link.
