Section V. Project Budget: The Project Budget is in Annex 2_2013 of the Concept Note Budget that is available online at this link.
Here are some tips for completing the Project Budget:
- Read the Budget Guidelines for how to complete the Project Budget carefully.
- All dollar amounts included in the Project Budget must be in U.S. dollars (USD).
- Provide dollar amounts in whole dollars only. If you have a dollar amount that ends in cents (e.g., $50.55), round up (or down) to the nearest dollar (e.g., $51.00).
- Only include budget items that are directly related to project activities.
- The Project Budget needs to be presented over a 3-year time frame. Include costs for Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, and then the total 3-year amount.
- For each Budget line, include the amount that your organization and contributors will be providing.
- Read how to calculate the percent (%) of each budget item carefully. Elements of the budget have different percentage requirements.
- Read the list of items that the UN Trust Fund will NOT fund.
- In regards to Indirect Costs: Indirect costs are related to the administrative support of the project (e.g., financial management, office space rental, office supplies, etc.). Note that there are different requirements based on the type of applicant you are (e.g., civil society organization, government entity, or UN country team).
- The Budget Narrative must be less than 700 words. Here you will briefly describe the budget item (e.g., Personnel, workshops, travel, etc.), the cost of the item, and why the item is necessary for the success of the program(s).
Section VI. Required Attachments: This section contains information on required registration and letters that need to be provided along with the grant application.
Section VII. Optional Attachments: Applicants are requested to provide a letter of endorsement from another key stakeholder (such as a previous beneficiary of the organization, a former or current partner organization, etc.).
