A title of a proposal is as important as the proposal itself, and even more important since it will give the donors the first impression when they start reading it. A brief, sharp, and attractive title which will hit the point of what the proposal is about will be what you need to consider and write. You need to spend some time to think about how to get a good title, and it happens that you will not be able to think about a good title until you almost finish the whole proposal design or writing, and which is fine, because the point is to have a great title. You may modify your title whenever new ideas come into your mind before the proposal submission. An attractive and competitive title will help the proposal to be predominant and stand out of others.
The content of a title will be a very brief description of the Executive Summary, and you may modify it to improve its attraction. For example, if we want to propose a project of the research on the governmental policy decision making to find out ways to improve it locally, a regular title could be “The Governmental Policy Decision Making in Mumbai – the Current Situations and the Improvements”. But a more attractive title could be “Improving the Governmental Policy Decision Making in Mumbai”, very brief, clear, and effective.
Another example is that we plan to promote women voters in official elections in Suez, a regular title could be “Current Women Voting Situations and the Promotions in Suez”, and a competitive one could be “the Promotions of Women Voting in Suez”.
When we are writing a proposal of the improvement of the efficiency of governmental service in Da Nang, we may think about a title as “The Current Governmental Efficiency of Service and Future Improvement in Da Nang”, or a shorter one as “How to Improve Governmental Efficiency of Service in Da Nang”.
