Terms and Conditions governing the fundsforngos.org Small Grant Prize
Opening and closing date
The fundsforngos.org Small Grant Prize (“prize”) begins on March 1, 2012 and ends April 1, 2012 23:59 GMT.
Participation Eligibility
Participation is open to any person in any country, unless prohibited by local or United States law. Participants need to be 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Participants must have an email address to participate. Employees of fundsforngos.org and/or its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies are not eligible to participate. Fundsforngos.org can exclude any participant for any or no reason at its own discretion.
Small Grant Contest Eligibility
Participants will be asked to nominate a developing country NGO or Network as the potential recipient of the Prize. Self-nominations are accepted. Only registered NGOs and active Networks in good standing are eligible to receive the prize (an exception can be made for NGOs active in countries where it is not possible to legally register). The prize winner must be legally able to receive the $500 prize. NGOs and Networks need to be able to submit proof of registration and good standing (or similar) before the prize can be awarded. Such proof can include official registration documents, certificates of registration, minutes of meetings, website address, list of members, etc. Fundsforngos.org can exclude any NGO or Network from the contest for any or no reason at its own discretion.
Entry
During the contest period, you can enter by filling out the official registration form. Participants are required to inform their NGO nominee before completing registration. Only one application form for each organization is permitted. If you submit more than one form for an organization, your application will be automatically rejected. No mechanically produced entries are permitted. Incomplete entries are void. Fundsforngos.org is not responsible for lost, late, or entries not received regardless of the cause. Entries are allowed only through the designated application form. Applicants submitting entries by any other means will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used for registration.
Prize Drawing
The potential winning grand prize (2) NGOs or Networks will be selected via a random drawing on 7 April 2012 of all email addresses registered by 1 April 2012 (23:59 GMT). Odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries received. The runner up prizes (10) will be selected suing the same method
The Prize
The two grand prize winner’s designated NGO or Network will receive $500 paid through PayPal, Western Union, Bank Transfer or other legal, eligible method. Payment will be effected after eligibility criteria of the nominated NGO or Network have been satisfied. The prize is awarded “as is”, and any taxes, or any other costs, fees, bank charges, or expenses are the sole responsibility of the prize recipient. If by reason of error, more prizes are claimed than the two grand prizes available, a random drawing will be held to award the two prizes. Under no circumstances will more than two prizes be awarded. Two grand prize winners and 10 runners up will receive access to a fundsforngos.org webinar of their choice.
Goal
The goal of the Prize is twofold: Provide an opportunity to win a Small Grant Prize or webinar by way of random drawing to all participating and nominated developing country NGOs and Networks; and to increase awareness of fundsforngos.org amongst NGOs around the world and increase active participation in the fundsforngos.org community, thereby improving NGO capacity.
Notification
The winning NGOs or Networks will be notified by email to the address provided at registration. The winners must claim the prize by responding to the notification email within 3 days of notification. Fundsforngos.org reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value if it deems this necessary. If the potential winner fails to timely claim the prize, is deemed ineligible, or if the prize notification email is returned as undeliverable, the prize is considered forfeited. In such cases, an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing.
Announcement of Winner
The name of the winners and his/her nominated NGO or Network will be made available on fundsforngos.org on or after 15 April 2012.
Prize Acceptance
Acceptance of the prize requires the winning NGOs or networks to agree and abide by all rules and regulations outlined within.
Publicity and Marketing
Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to fundsforngos.org to use winners name, writing, logo, and image for purposes of marketing, in any medium, without further compensation or notice.
Information collecting during the contest
Participation requires registration of an email address, city, country, and the nomination of an eligible NGO or Network. Email addresses can be added optionally as subscribers by email owners to fundsforngos.org and receive other fundsforngos.org newsletters and funding announcements unless you “opt out”. Information collected will be used to determine the Small Grant Prize winners by random lottery. Information collected will not be shared or sold with any other parties. By submitting your contact information for this prize you provide permission to fundsforngos.org to contact you about the contest.
Liability
Fundsforngos.org and its affiliates are not responsible for any and all failures of any kind related to this contest (whether caused by computer or human error). Participants release fundsforngos.org from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever arising in connection with this Prize including.
Other Terms
Decisions of fundsforngos.org on all matters related to this prize are final. Any legal disputes arising under this prize are subject to the laws of the State of New York, USA and exclusive jurisdiction and venue shall be in the state or federal courts located in New York, NY, USA. Fundsforngos.org reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest, Prize or its terms for any reason, including but not limited to, fraud, misconduct or technical failures. Fundsforngos.org reserves the right to disqualify or prohibit the participation of an individual, NGO, network or other entity for any reason without notice.
