The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is inviting proposals from any large or small commercial (for-profit) firms, faith-based organizations, and non-profit organizations in partnerships or consortia from geographical code 937 to manage and implement the Cross-Border Health Integrated Partnership Project (CBHIPP) targeted at the Eastern, Central and Southern African transport corridors and cross-border sites. The project aims to catalyze and support sustainable and African-led regional health development partnerships to improve health outcomes among mobile populations and vulnerable communities residing along the targeted region.
The USAID will make one Leader Award covering specific regional activity. The Leader Award recipient will be making Associate Awards to carry out regional activities and accomplish program objectives. The targeted population of the project include mobile, vulnerable populations such as truck drivers, trucker assistants, sex workers, low-income vulnerable women and youth, and people with HIV (PwHIV).Other vulnerable groups like migrant laborers, fishing communities living and working across ‘wet borders’, and nomads will also be considered as the target group as per feasibility. The anticipated start date of the program is 1 September 2014.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Eligible applicants are US or non-US organizations, non-profit, or for-profit entities.
- Cost-sharing of 10% is mandatory.
- The applicant organization must submit full details of the proposed candidates to hold the positions. Please check the link to read about eligibility for individual positions.
- Two separate applications – technical and cost/business must be submitted.
- The Applicant shall provide detailed past performance information, which should include all relevant Awards (Contracts, Grants and Cooperative Agreements) performed within the last five (5) years that are similar in size, scope and expected results to what is contained in the Program Description.
- Applicants must submit three (3) references of professional contacts, with current contact information including email addresses and telephone numbers, for each proposed candidate.

Note: Geographical Code 937 is defined as the United States, the cooperating/recipient country, and developing countries other than advanced developing countries, and excluding prohibited sources.
