The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) invites grant applications from individuals, groups and organizations in ACP (African Caribbean & Pacific) countries along with the European Union (EU) Member States for the documentation of proven practices, tools or policies that promote resilience and help farmers [in short; document the farming practices] to address the challenges posed by climate change. The major purpose of this call is to identify and document agricultural practices, tools and policies that have helped farmers to continue to produce food under adverse changing climate, understand the extent of the impacts of such solutions and draw lessons from scaling them up.
Grant amount up to €20,000 will be made available to successful applicants to carry out the proposed activities.
Program Areas
- Practices and technologies for adapting to climate change that have been widely adopted by farmers, over a wide area or in several countries
- Conducive policies that have successfully contributed to climate-change adaptation and/or mitigation in agriculture
- ICT tools and processes that have been successfully deployed to address the challenges posed by climate change in agriculture
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be individuals, groups of individuals and organizations that based in ACP or EU countries. The non-ACP applicants must demonstrate the involvement of individuals or organizations from the ACP in the activity or the relevance of the case study to ACP countries.
- Applicants must have identified specific innovative practices, tools or policies that provide solutions to the challenges of climate change in agriculture and have the potential to benefit a large number of people in ACP countries.
- Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to conduct high-quality written documentation in a cost-effective manner.
- Applicants must make a strong case for how the proposed case study contributes to meeting CTA’s objectives.
- Priority is given to Submissions that discuss climate change from the perspectives of opportunities and solutions that have successfully addressed climate-induced challenges to food security, agricultural production and resilience or have high potential to do so.
- Proposals can be submitted in English or French language via email by the deadline.
