AUSAID’s Enterprise Challenge Fund is an opportunity for the private sector businesses for funding commercially viable business projects. The Fund also aims at reducing poverty with the participation of the private sector. The Fund aims to promote growth and ensure that benefits and opportunities reach the poor. The open competition is held once in a year and proposals are invited to be submitted by the Fund. It is a perfect opportunity for the private sector in developing countries to bid and mobilize funding so that it can participate in the social development processes. The Fund provides the required finance for the private sector in initiating projects to reduce poverty. However, part of the project funding has to be delivered by the grantee while the other part of it is matched by the AUSAID. Link.
