The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is calling applications for Global Infectious Disease Research Administration Development Award for Low-and Middle-Income Country Institutions (G11). The purpose of this FOA is to encourage submission of applications from research institutions in LMICs, as defined by The World Bank, to provide their senior administrators with advanced training in the management of NIH grants.
Award Information
- Funding Instrument Grant: A support mechanism providing money, property, or both to an eligible entity to carry out an approved project or activity.
- Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards: The number of awards is contingent upon NIH appropriations and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
- Award Budget: Application budgets are limited to $100,000 per 18 months in direct costs. Indirect costs for foreign grantees are limited to 8%.
- Award Project Period: The total project period may not exceed 18 months.
Eligibility Information
- Eligible organizations must be in a LMIC, as defined by The World Bank, and includes research institutions in LMICs.
- Non-domestic (non-U.S.) entities (foreign institutions), non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S Organizations, and foreign components are eligible to apply.
- Any individual(s) with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research as the Program Director(s)/Principal Investigator(s) (PD(s)/PI(s)) is invited to work with his/her organization to develop an application for support.
- The PD/PI should be a senior institutional staff member with responsibility for grants administration (e.g. grants administrator, business official, or scientist with institutional grants management responsibilities). A doctorate degree is not required to be the PD/PI.
- Only one application per institution (normally identified by having a unique DUNS number or NIH-IPF number) is allowed.
Organizations must submit applications to Grants.gov. Applications must be submitted electronically by deadline. Paper applications will not be accepted.
