The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation invite applications for its 2015 grant. The Foundation is interested in making single and multi-year grants for programs that advance the arts or education in Oregon.
The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation, an independent private foundation, was established in 2002 to enhance the quality of life of Oregonians through support of the Arts and Education.
Primary Areas
- Art
- Enhancing programming and audience building
- Financial capacity and stability development
- Strengthening financial planning and business models
- Education – The Foundation will continue to receive education proposals that strengthen or lift the level of student achievement and success submitted by eligible K-12 organizations.
Eligibility Information
- Applicants must be a governmental entity or a tax-exempt charitable organization as described in Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (3) and be determined by the IRS not to be a “private foundation” under section 509 (a) of the code and have a minimum of three years of successful operation
- The Foundation generally will not favor proposals seeking funds for:
- Direct grants or loans to individuals
- Endowments
- Debt retirement or operation deficits
- Emergency needs
- Propagandizing or influencing elections or legislation
- Projects of religious organizations that principally benefit their own members
- If a proposal is declined, a subsequent request from that organization will normally not be considered within a 12-month period.
- An organization that has received a grant may submit another proposal two or three months prior to the end of that grant period to more closely align with its fiscal year, but no decision will be made on the new request until a final report on the prior grant has been received and approved.
