The young researchers in Asia-Pacific region focusing on nature conservation can secure up to 500,000 Japanese Yen to implement their research project for a maximum period of two years. The Nagao Natural Environment Foundation Research Grant Program invites academic and scientific researchers under this call. The primary objective of the program is to strengthen research capacity of young researchers in the region.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a national of developing country in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Applicant must be a researcher or scientist, who works full-time or who is enrolled in a doctoral course, conducting research at a research institution or relevant organization in her/his home country.
- Applicant must have sufficient experience and skills in conducting and managing the proposed research.
- Applicant must have good command over English.
- An individual can apply only once for a particular time frame and should have no on-going research or publication project funded by NEF at the time of application submission.
- Proposed research project must be scientific and contribute to the nature conservation of the applicant’s country; the research must be carried out in the applicant’s country & involve fieldwork for collecting data.
- The project must be applicant’s own project. Team projects are not funded.
- The proposed project must be exclusively funded by the NEF Research Grant Program, or co-funded with the applicant’s institution.
- Past grant recipients can apply for continuation grant for one time after completion of the funded project.
