The Rockefeller Foundation accepts funding inquiries concentrating on the four focus areas- advance health, revalue ecosystems, secure livelihoods, and transform cities from organizations around the globe. The Foundation aims to promote the well-being of humanity throughout the world by advancing inclusive economies that expand opportunities for more broadly shared prosperity, and building resilience by helping people, communities and institutions prepare for, withstand, and emerge stronger from acute shocks and chronic stresses.
Funding Areas
- Advance health – Creating incentives for better nutrition and wellness. Support innovative strategies that incentivize individuals, communities and governments to address the breadth of variables that contribute to healthy societies, ranging from agriculture to waste and from clean water to resilient health systems.
- Revalue ecosystems – Accounting for nature’s role in people’s economic and social well being. Move beyond preservation or conservation efforts to seek out new approaches to integrate environmental accountability into economic and social systems in order to preserve the fundamental resilience of the planet.
- Secure livelihoods – Expanding opportunity and creating inclusive markets in the changing global economy. Promote new approaches to economic goals, development and management to foster sustainable growth models upon which prosperity is more widely-and equitably-shared.
- Transform Cities – Embracing urbanization to catalyze equity to address the root causes of emerging challenges and create systemic change. Systemic approach to issues facing urban areas such as climate change, sustainable infrastructure systems, and innovation for informal economies with a focus on spurring more equitable growth across societies.

Eligibility Criteria
- Project must fit within one of the Current Initiatives.
- Proposal must address one or more of the funding areas.
- Proposed work must affect people in one or more of the geographic areas in which the Foundation works. The geographical areas are mentioned in each current initiative.
- Inquiries must be made online. No email or mail inquiries are entertained.
