The Seaworld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund accepts grant applications on conservation awareness programs/projects. The grant funding may range between (but not limited to) $5,000 to $25,000. The major aim of the conservation fund is to support conservation efforts directly benefiting wildlife in their native ranges (in-situ). The ex-situ efforts such as endangered species breeding programs and conservation awareness/education that demonstrate significant positive and sustainable impact are also supported.
Projects using applied research toward specific wildlife conservation outcomes/goals are highly preferred. Also supported are the (dissertation) research by university/college students as part of their degree contribution.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations based in the U.S., non-U.S. based non-profit organizations and non-governmental organizations, governmental entities, accredited universities and research centers, and AZA- or AMMPA-accredited institutions.
- Organizations seeking funding for multiple, distinct projects can submit multiple applications.
- Maximum 10% of the proposed budget can be allocated for salaries of principal investigators and other supporting staff. A maximum of 5 percent of the total grant amount may underwrite indirect expenses such as administrative, utility, facility and maintenance costs.
- Proposals can be made for multi-year funding.
