The European Union and Zambian Governance Foundation are jointly inviting Zambian and other countries’ organizations to submit proposals for Non-State Actors (NSAs) Capacity Building Program. Proposals must be submitted for either Media or Access to Justice actions in Zambia. The program aims to enhance public participation in democratic governance and to improve service delivery. This call purposes to empower citizens so that they know, secure and enforce their human and democratic rights.
Funding Lots
- Lot 1 : To support and strengthen NSAs capacities and actions in the area of media development. Initiatives aimed at encouraging attitude and behavior changes; promoting innovative modes of debate and collaboration; improving the quality of journalism; increasing the capacity of independent media outlets or community radios are supported.
- Lot 2 : To support NSAs actions to promote access to justice. The initiatives aimed at increasing legal literacy amongst citizens; providing paralegal and legal advice aimed at helping citizens; providing free or affordable legal aid services including legal consultancy or representation in court; providing capacity development support to access to justice; providing for innovative approaches which encourage attitude and behavior changes within communities and policy actors will be supported.

Total EUR 4,000,000, EUR 2,000,000 in each lot is the fund allocated under this call. Grant request can be made for minimum EUR 200,000 and maximum EUR 500,000 which should be at least 50% and at most 80% of the total eligible cost of the action. The program activities can be proposed for 18 to 36 months.
