The Tinker Foundation is accepting both Letter of Inquiry and Full Proposals from organizations working in Latin America.
The proposed projects – should have a strong public policy component, offer innovative solutions to problems facing these regions, and incorporate new mechanisms for addressing the following programmatic areas:
- Democratic Governance
- Education
- Sustainable Resource Management
- U.S. Policy toward Latin America
- Antarctica Science and Policy
Activities (not limited to)
- Research Projects
- Workshops
- Conferences
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant organization must have 501(c)3 charitable status or its equivalent (if based outside the United States).
- Proposed project/program must be geographically focused on Latin America.
- Proposals must address one of the five program areas mentioned above. Funding for areas (4) & (5) is very limited.
- In case of past grantees making proposals, new funding requests will be considered only after final reports of past projects are received and approved.
- Applications must be submitted in English language.
Important Information
Letter of Inquiry must reach the Foundation at least 4 weeks prior to the full proposal submission deadline (i.e. 1 March 2015). If accepted, the organization will be invited to submit full proposal. The Letter of Inquiry should include a brief summary of the project and a paragraph on the organization.
Complete application (Full Proposal) includes – proposal cover sheet, separate one-page summary of the proposal, narrative section, names and addresses of up to three individuals who could serve as reviewers or references who are not directly involved with the project, itemized annual budget for the cost of the project, copy of organization’s latest audited financial statement, complete list of organization’s staff and Board of Directors, and one-page summary of the organization’s background.
