The Toyota Foundation is inviting applications for ‘Cultivating Empathy through Leaning from Our Neighbors: Common Issues in Japan and Other Asian Countries’ International Grant Program.
Thematic Areas:
- Aging Society: Community-based care and active participation of the elderly
- Multicultural Society: Social inclusion of international migrants
- Renewable energy practices for sustainable community development
Applications can be made for maximum grants amount JPY3,000,000 for the project focusing in one of the target countries and JPY6,000,000 for the project focusing more than two countries with comparative nature. The five target countries are – Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Eligible applicant is a team or a network of members from diversified backgrounds (policy makers, researchers, practitioners, local communities, etc.), with a proven record of delivering results in one of the thematic areas.
- Priority is given to habitants in the five target countries.
- Proposed projects must focus at least one of the target countries.
- Applicants should register and download application form via Toyota Foundation website, and send (upload) application with relevant information.
- Applicants must use the application format (in Japanese or English) provided by the Toyota Foundation, without any page extension.
- Applicant must have experience in the thematic areas concerning the target countries.
- Applicants must be with available human network of various stakeholders (policy makers, practitioners, researchers, local communities) in the thematic areas concerning the target countries.
- Applicant must have experience in impacting the stakeholders.
- Applicant must hold strong communication skills.
