UK Aid Match is a demand-led fund which will match public donations to appeals for development activities emphasized on poverty reduction in developing countries. This organization was incorporated on 30 June 2011.
The public reach of their appeal and commitment and capacity to communicate the results of the funding to the public;
- Capacity and track record in managing development activities;
- Commitment to and capacity to account transparently on the use of the funding;
- Clarity of the expected results of the proposed activities;
- Whether the activities are consistent with DFID’s priorities and values; and
- Whether the activities represent value for money.
UK Aid Match is a mechanism which allows the UK public to have a direct say in how an element of the aid budget is spent. It is called UK Aid Match because DFID will match, pound for pound, public donations to appeals made by not-for-profit organizations for work that is being conducted in developing countries to reduce poverty. The scheme is managed by the Outreach and Stakeholder Relations Team, Communications Division.
Applications for funding must be received by 11 May 2012.
