Deadline: 13 April 2015
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Guatemala is seeking applications for “Sustainable Economic Observatory” project. This is the funding opportunity for a cooperative agreement to be awarded by USAID/Guatemala. The objective of the Sustainable Economic Observatory is to contribute to the well-being and development of the people of Guatemala by strengthening civil society and to engage civil society in the process of analyzing, developing, and implementing effective policies and programs related to four key development topics:
(1) food security;
(2) agriculture sector development;
(3) environment, climate change, and biodiversity conservation; and
(4) competitiveness and the business enabling environment.
USAID intends to award only one (1) Cooperative Agreement based on this RFA. Subject to the availability of funds, USAID intends to provide between $8,500,000 and $9,000,000 in total USAID funding for the life of the activity
The purpose of this project is for the selected Recipient to establish a Sustainable Economic Observatory (SEO), an independent research center, to strengthen civil society, private sector, and other stakeholders’ participation and engagement at both the national and local level.
