The Guatemala Human Rights Commission/USA invites Guatemalan citizens to apply for the Voiceless Speak Fund. Individuals associated with a committee or organization that is involved with or working for a human rights group, or other organization that can help the individual in their activities are encouraged to apply for the grant.
Grant request can be made for $5,000 for a period of one year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant can be either a Guatemalan who is actively working or will work to educate a US audience about human rights conditions in Guatemala; or a Guatemalan who is organizing or will organize activities in their community in the United States to improve human rights conditions for Guatemalans.
- Applicant must benefit a community (as opposed to a single individual or family) regarding human rights; and focus on education, advocacy and awareness raising in the US about human rights issues affecting Guatemalan communities in the US or Guatemala.
- Applicant must demonstrate interest in developing a relationship with GHRC to fulfill its mission.
- Application must include a proposed budget for the year and a plan for specific activities to be carried out by the applicant in the community.
- Application must be in English or Spanish language.
