The UNDP’s Small Grants Programme (SGP) does not use a complex methodology to select its grantees. The basic criterion only seeks an NGO or CBO working in the country where SGP is available. A list of countries where SGP is available is given at the end of this document.
The project that you are proposing should cover the areas of work identified as priority sectors by the SGP. According to SGP’s website, its main areas of work include Climate Change, Land Degradation, Sustainable Forest Management, International Waters and Chemicals.
Additionally, you also need to ensure that your project is also aligned to the guidelines outlined in the Country Programme Strategy (CPS) of your country. You can access the CPS of your country in the list of countries given at the end of this document.
The applicant organization can be an NGO, a CBO or a grassroots organization.
If you fulfill the above criteria, then you can apply for UNDP’s Small Grants Programme.
