Objectives

The (animation) video should:

  • Highlight the role of the VGGT as a tool for Indigenous Peoples to use in land related matters
  • Turn into a tool that will enable Indigenous Peoples to learn about the VGGT (facilitating exchanges and discussions among them)
  • Bring to light the parts of the VGGT that are most relevant for indigenous peoples
  • Showcase good practices related to their application (e.g. registration of customary land rights of an indigenous community, development of new laws for the recognition and protection of the legitimate tenure rights of indigenous peoples, others)
  • Be of universal character (addressed to indigenous communities in different parts of the world)
  • Emphasize specific/key articles of the UNDRIP affirming rights to lands and resources, subsistence, redress and restitution, traditional knowledge, sacred sites, as well as Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC).
  • Reflect self-determination
