Grant opportunity : Collaborative projects on women, gender, and/or sexuality

The Institute for Research on Women and Gender is inviting applications for collaborative projects on women, gender, and/or sexuality. Grants of up to $10,000 will be granted for this project.

The aim of this funding program is to foster collaboration across disciplines in ways that facilitate new relationships between scholars in different fields of study in the early stages of research projects. Teams should comprise three or more faculty. It is expected that teams who receive funding will use the support to develop collaborations that lead to the submission of an application for extramural funding and ultimately to published scholarship.

Eligibility & Criteria-

  • Teams of three or more faculty, at least two of whom must be from the University of Michigan, are eligible to apply.
  • Tenure-track faculty, research faculty, and librarians are eligible to submit applications. Librarians need to include a member of the tenure track or research faculty as a collaborator.
  • Previous recipients of awards from IRWG are eligible, provided that this grant does not duplicate previously funded activities.

Project title-

  1. Applicant’s name, title and department(s)
  2. Email address for applicant
  3. Names and affiliations of collaborators on the project with a statement indicating
  4. their commitment to participating.
  5. Amount requested
  6. Funding received from IRWG in the past five years by any of the collaborators

Abstract-

  1. Provide a 100 word summary of the project.

Project Narrative

  1. In a statement of NO MORE THAN 3 single-spaced pages, include the following:
  2. A description of the problem or question to be addressed by the project and its significance
  3. Plans for collaboration
  4. A timeline for preparing an extramural funding application
  5. Targeted extramural funding sources and deadlines for submission of applications to those funding sources

Budget–

  1. Outline budget expenses, including their justification.

Curriculum Vitae-

  1. Include a short (5 pages) curriculum vitae for collaborators on the project
