The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan is accepting proposals to operate one existing English Language Resource Center and establish another at Ghouharsahd Girls’ School in Herat, Afghanistan. This project will last for a period of two years.
Proposals Objectives-
- Set up an English Resource Center at Ghouharsahd Girls’ High School
- Manage day-to-day operations of the two English Language Teaching Centers including ensuring the Centers are appropriately staffed, courses and training are successfully and regularly conducted and the resources are being used properly
- Transition the centers from being operated by a private NGO to Afghan government management and funding during the period of the grant. As part of this process, during the grant period, the grantee will negotiate a MOU with the Department of Education regarding the maintenance and operation of the Centers and their resources beyond the grant period. Additionally the grantee will negotiate a MOU among the three relevant parties: Provincial Department of Education, Ghourharsahd Girls’ High School and the Teacher Training Center, pledging to work together beyond the grant period to maintain and operate the centers
Proposals tenure will be for 24 months, with award ceiling is set at $200,000.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Eligibility is open to all Afghan organizations or companies with direct experience in teaching methodology, teaching English and computer courses, or operating a cultural or training center in Afghanistan, and a proven track record of success implementing projects in Afghanistan.
