United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for Promoting Afghan Civic Engagement (PACE) for which the funding is offered up to $70,000,000.00. The objective of this program is to promote civic education in order to increase demand for quality information services and greater civic participation.
PACE’s overarching goal is to promote civil society and media engagement that enables Afghan citizens to influence policy, monitor government accountability, and serve as an advocate for political reform. Afghan civil society and media organizations operate in a challenging environment, and yet they play an ever greater role in Afghanistan’s democratic process.

- Regular CSO engagement with government
- Increased CSO and media thematic expertise in democracy and governance
- Expanded civic education
- Improved access to independent news and public affairs information
- Increased CSO organizational capacity
Eligibility & Criteria-
This is a full and open competition and all interested and qualified U.S Non-Governmental Organizations and Non-U.S Non-Governmental Organizations that are either non-profit or for-profit are encouraged to apply. USAID encourages applications from potential new partners.
