United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Uganda is accepting applications for RIGHTS AND EMPOWERMENT IN NORTHERN UGANDA (RENU) program. The goal of this program is to focus on to strengthen partnerships with local actors, engage traditional leaders to support human rights protections, and work closely with political and technical leaders in local government to change attitudes and raise awareness about human rights frameworks, especially as they impact the lives of women and girls.
The total estimated budget for this RFA is US $400,000. USAID may make one or more award(s) without discussions to responsible applicants whose applications offer the greatest value; to the extent they are necessary, negotiations will be conducted with the apparently successful applicant(s).

Eligibility & Criteria-
- This is a local competition, under which any type of organization, large or small, commercial (for profit) firms, faith-based, and non-profit organizations in partnerships or consortia from Uganda, are eligible to compete.
- applicant must-
- Be organized under the laws of the recipient country (Uganda)
- Have its principal place of business in the recipient country (Uganda)
- Be majority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of a recipient country or be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of a recipient country
- Not be controlled by a foreign entity or by an individual or individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of the recipient country
- USAID encourages applications from potential new partners
