Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S is accepting proposals for Social Media Summit to occur in the summer of 2013, with social media training in the provinces over the following six months. This will be the opportunity for Afghans to highlight social media as a legitimate platform for communication, as well as provide an opportunity for active users of blogs, Facebook, and Twitter to exchange ideas and information.
Objectives-
- help to create a vibrant online community in Afghanistan and thereby promote communication, learning and contact with the wider world.
- promoting social media as a legitimate form of communication
- building relationships between bloggers and other social media users through networking
- expanding the pool of Afghan social media users.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Eligibility is open to all Afghan and international organizations and companies operating in Afghanistan with direct experience organizing large scale conferences or events, and a proven track record of success implementing projects in Afghanistan. Organizations must demonstrate current country registration license (if applicable), competent programmatic ability, and be able to meet reporting requirements. International organizations that do not have a branch office in Afghanistan are required to partner with an Afghan organization.
