Ethiopian organizations are invited to submit applications for Strengthening Malaria Monitoring and Evaluation Systems (SMMES) of Ethiopia Program under United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The purpose of this program is to strengthen technical, strategic, research and M&E capacity of the Government of Ethiopia’s National Malaria Control Program, in view of contributing and measuring the PMI’s goal of achieving a 70% reduction in malaria-associated mortality by 2018.
Objectives-
- Provide M&E support to the National Malaria Control Program
- Conduct and coordinate malaria operational research, formative evaluations and special studies including surveys on behalf of PMI and
- FMOH/EHNR/Regional Health Bureaus
- Provide selected and specific technical assistance at national and regional levels for malaria prevention and control interventions and policy development that are not provided by other malaria stakeholders
Subject to the availability of funds, it is USAID’s intention to provide up to $5,000,000 for this planned 5-year activity under this RFA.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Be organized under the laws of the recipient country
- Have its principal place of business in the recipient country
- Be majority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the recipient country or be managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of a recipient country
- Not be controlled by a foreign entity or by an individual or individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of the recipient country
