Countries/Region- Uganda
USAID/Uganda is pleased to invite applications for Communication for Healthy Communities (CHC) program to contribute to a reduction in HIV infections, total fertility, maternal and child mortality, malnutrition, malaria and tuberculosis (TB). The main Objective of the program is to increase adoption of healthy behaviors (including uptake of critical health services) through strengthened health communication, in order to contribute to these improved health outcomes.
The Communication for Healthy Communities program will support the achievement of USAID/Uganda’s Health, HIV/AIDS and Education Office’s Development Objective “Improved health and nutrition status in focus areas and population groups,” under USAID/Uganda’s new 2011-2015 Country Development and Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). The program will not address these issues in the traditional manner of one organization being solely responsible for design and delivery of communication interventions. While Communication for Healthy Communities will execute national-level communication initiatives, it will work closely with the MoH and other USG-funded service delivery partners to ensure that these programs are linked to community-level activities that respond to needs at the local level, and to harmonize communication efforts.
