United States Agency of International Development (USAID) is inviting project proposals from all the eligible entity for ‘Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Reads Capacity Program’ 2014. The major aim of the grant program is to increase the impact, scale, and sustainability of early grade reading interventions in the LAC region through the development of state-of-the-art knowledge resources and the provision of technical assistance to host country governments, and other selected key stakeholders, to enhance their efforts to boost early grade reading outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged children.
LAC Reads Capacity Program will facilitate stakeholder understanding and application of evidence-based, context appropriate, approaches to improving early grade reading. The result of the project implementation will be achieved through increased awareness of effective evidence-based practices that increase early-grade reading achievement by ministries of education and other key stakeholders; increased demand for effective evidence-based practices that increase early-grade reading achievement by ministries of education and other key stakeholders; and increased capacity to integrate the use of effective evidence-based practices that increase early-grade reading achievement by ministries of education and other key stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria –
- The grant program is unrestricted. Applicants can be private voluntary organizations, foundations, colleges and universities, civic groups, faith-based and community institutions, international organizations, private businesses and associations, regional organizations, philanthropic organizations, and advocacy groups; and any other kind of entity.
