The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Indonesia is seeking applications for funding from qualified U.S. and Non-U.S. organizations to fund a program entitled eMpowering Access to Justice (MAJU) in order to strengthen democratic governance in Indonesia by enhancing the ability of poor and marginalized Indonesians to access justice, and increasing the ability of the government of Indonesia (GOI) to protect their rights consistent with Indonesia’s constitution and long-standing international commitments.
The goal of the strategy is “A stronger Indonesia advancing national and global development”.
Objectives
The objectives identified to achieve the stronger Indonesia goals are:
- Democratic governance strengthened
- Essential human services for poorest and most vulnerable improved
- Global development priorities of mutual interest advanced
- Collaborative achievement in science, technology and innovation increased
Award Information
- USAID/INDONESIA intends to provide $8,400,000 in total USAID funding over a five year period.
- $1.5 million must be allocated for forest dependent indigenous communities living in or around high biodiversity forests within LESTARI landscapes in Papua across three outcomes.
- In additional, $500,000 should be made available for Technical Assistance activities.
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. and non-U.S., non-government organizations (NGOs) are eligible to apply.
- USAID encourages applications from potential new partners, which have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
- Applicants must have established financial management, monitoring and evaluation processes, internal control systems, and policies and procedures that comply with established U.S. Government standards, laws, and regulations.
