The MDR-TB (Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis) Planning Toolkit has been developed to strengthen a multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) component within the national TB strategy or plan of various countries.
The toolkit explains the main steps to be followed during the planning process. It helps to form objectives for a strong MDR-TB control component, as well as find about the weakness in the present service. It also helps to secure funding resources and find ways to monitor the progress. Countries, technical partners, international organizations, and donors who are desirous of improving the identification and treatment of MDR-TB can use this toolkit.
The new toolkit is based upon the MDR-TB assessment and monitoring tool, which is also available as Word and PDF files—in English, Russian, and Spanish. The credit of funding the new toolkit goes to USAID.
