The American Lung Association (ALA) is inviting applicants for Biomedical Research Grant to provide seed monies to junior investigators researching the mechanisms of lung disease and general lung biology. The goal of this program is to fund researchers at important crossroads of their careers to gain long-term commitment to lung disease research.
Funding Information
- The Biomedical Research Grant is for $40,000 per year.
- The maximum amount of funds expendable for travel is $1,000 per year.
Eligibility Criteria
- At the time of application, candidates must be United States citizens or foreign nationals holding visa immigration statuses (mentioned on the pdf)
- an applicant must hold a doctoral degree and have a faculty appointment or equivalent with demonstrated institutional commitment in a recognized academic or other not-forprofit institution.
- Applicants should be on-track to pursue a career in lung disease research with a mentor who has a demonstrated history of research experience and mentorship.
- Medical residents, those presently enrolled in a degree program (e.g., graduate students), and established investigators are not eligible to apply
