Long-term partnerships that aim to deliver effective projects are supported by THET. The projects will be accepted for evaluation if they meet the need of the project focus country. Wide variety of projects where the ultimate goal is strengthening the capacity of the developing country’s health services are supported under the additional Support to the Health Partnership Community. For this grant support, the applicant must be a UK institution working in partnership with an overseas institution in low and/or middle income country, thus the responsibilities of both the partners towards THET and the project vary.
Responsibilities of the Lead UK Partner
- Signing the HPS contract with THET
- Receiving grant funds and managing them in accordance with the contract
- Maintaining financial records
- Reporting on finance and grant activity to THET (Activity reports are expected to be written by the
- partnership as a whole but coordinated by the UK lead partner)
- Ensuring grant finances are audited as part of the institution’s annual audit
- Taking responsibility (as laid out in the contract) for all security, insurance and registration matters related to those travelling/working on behalf of the project
Responsibilities of the Overseas Partner Institution
- Delivering results
- Coordinating partnership activities within their country
- Associated financial and narrative Reporting
