The Foundation funds organizations and projects that exhibit strong leadership and sound management and are expected to achieve a broad, lasting and positive social impact. The Foundation also seeks actively to support projects that facilitate the formation of public-private partnerships as effective means for serving public welfare.
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is a grantmaking organization only. The Foundation does not solicit or accept donations from individuals, corporations or other organizations. Additionally, the Foundation does not make grants to individuals. To find out about supporting any of the organizations the Foundation supports, or to apply for assistance from programs funded by the Foundation at specific organizations, please contact those organizations directly.

Applications for a grant should be addressed to the Programs Department and a brief letter of inquiry describing the organization and the project should be submitted by mail or e-mail to the appropriate Foundation office, based on an applicant’s location and/or operation. All inquiries will receive a written response. If an initial inquiry is reviewed favorably by the Foundation, the applicant will be invited to submit a full proposal.
