UNITAID is currently inviting eligible public or private entity / institution / organization around the world to submit proposals for its three areas for intervention listed below. UNITAID’s mission is to contribute to the global response against HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria by bringing new, better and more affordable medicines, technologies and systems faster to those in need.
Programme Categories
- Improve adult antiretroviral therapy in low and middle-income countries: Under this area, UNITAID is soliciting proposals for the following two interventions, with a view to securing a substantial impact on the Global Goals for access to HIV treatment:
- Provide support for evidence-gathering on the use of new priority antiretroviral regimens for first and second-line therapy in low and middle-income countries.
- Ensure market preparedness for the priority products.
- Enabling scale–up of Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and linkage to HIV test: Under this area, UNITAID is soliciting proposals for the following two interventions:
- Support implementation research to enable scale-up and expansion of Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
- Address current market shortcomings affecting access.
- Development of better tools to diagnose HCV, in particular in case of HIV/HCV co-infection: Under this area, UNITAID is soliciting proposals for the following intervention with a view to working with partners and countries to ensure the development of and access to optimal HCV diagnostics:
- Provide support for the development and uptake of accurate tests for HCV.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant(s) can be:
- A public or private entity / institution / organization around the world; or
- A consortium: a group of public and/or private entities / institutions / organizations with one entity / institution or organization acting as the Lead Organization (“LO”).
