A call for consultancy proposals has been issued by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance to provide a cycle of technical support for start-up assessment and documentation, working with Alliance Linking Organisations in five countries undertaking model projects in either prevention of parent-tochild transmission (PPTCT) or prevention with sex workers and men who have sex with men.
This work will be undertaken alongside another consultancy carrying out similar activities in three francophone countries. The methodological approach for the start-up assessment and documentation will be qualitative, focusing on story-based descriptive data that is used in the Most Significant Change method, along with triangulation of existing data regarding the specific situation in the country as relevant to their projects.
Two consultants will be needed to cover the five countries in this time. They will undertake regional training of Linking Organisations to support their efforts, notably in data collection, analysis, and use of newly collected data as well as existing information. In addition, the consultants will undertake work to supplement Linking Organisations’ efforts, notably for supporting the participatory analysis and for writing technical reports that documents the assessment results.
The consultants must:
- have demonstrable experience in the technical area
- have the ability to develop relevant, user-friendly tools
- have demonstrable experience in building capacity, preferably for peer-led, participatory approaches
- undertake field based support, including training and participatory analysis with partner organisations
- have strong report writing skills, and support partners by writing technical reports for each of the five countries plus a regional summary report
The deadline to submit proposals is 4 September 2012. For more information, visit this link.
