The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) is calling proposals for 13th AWID International Forum on Women’s Rights and Development which will take place from 5 to 9 May 2016 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
Financial Assistance
AWID has a limited amount of funding to support organizers/presenters in selected sessions who would be unable to present at the forum without financial assistance. Applications for AWID’s ‘Access Fund’ will be made available to all selected session organizers in September 2015. Session organizers will be asked to forward this application to any of your confirmed speakers who may require financial support through the Access Fund.
Goals of the AWID Forum 2016 are to:
- Celebrate the gains of the past 20 years by diverse social movements and critically analyze the lessons we can carry forward;
- Assess our current reality in the full diversity of our contexts, to locate opportunities for advancing the rights of women and other oppressed people, as well as the threats and challenges – both new and old – confronting today;
- Explore strategies for mobilizing greater solidarity and collective power across diverse movements to push back the forces of oppression and tap into existing opportunities to advance shared visions for a just world;
- Inspire, energize and renew strength and purpose among activists and advocates from diverse locations and movements.
How to Submit Application?
- Online – AWID strongly encourages participants to fill out online application form. Once participant has submitted proposal, participant will receive login information and will be able to return to submission and make changes and/or additions/corrections until the call closes.
- Email – Applications can also be sent via email. Participants need to request word application and send it back after filling.
