The European Instrument for Democracy and Human rights (EIDHR) is accepting applications for Country Based Support Scheme (CBSS) for Montenegro. The goal of this program is to strengthen the role of civil society in promoting human rights and democratic reform, in supporting the peaceful conciliation of group interests and in consolidating political participation and representation.
Objectives-
- Enhancing respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in countries where they are most at risk
- Supporting actions on human rights and democracy issues in areas covered by EU Guidelines, including on human rights dialogues, on human rights defenders, on the death penalty, on torture, on children and armed conflict, on the rights of the child, on violence against women and girls and combating all forms of discrimination against them, on International Humanitarian Law and on possible future guidelines
- Supporting and strengthening international and regional frameworks for the protection and promotion of human rights, justice, the rule of law and the promotion of democracy
- Building confidence in and enhancing the reliability and transparency of democratic electoral processes, in particular through election observation
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is € 900,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 24 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be specific types of organisations such as: non-governmental organisations, public sector operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organisations
- be established in a Member State of the European Union and an eligible country
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
