Short Course on Integrity and Anti-corruption (7 – 18 March, 2016)

This training programme aims to increase understanding of the international anti- corruption framework and related integrity policies. In this course, the role of various actors and international instruments in eliminating corruption and promoting the rule of law will be examined and corruption’s relation to international development and human security will be discussed.
The participants of this course will be working for different organisations in different countries. There will be plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.
After successful completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of The Hague Academy for Local Governance.
Course Objectives
This course will help to:
- Examine the cross-cutting nature of corruption and the social impact surrounding it;
- Have insight in the importance of integrity for well-functioning, transparent (government) institutions and for economic growth;
- Be able to deal with challenges related to anti-corruption and integrity policies;
- Identify instruments for increasing transparency and accountability;
- Better understanding of the implementation of the international framework of anti-corruption conventions, protocols and best practices;
- Know how the Dutch policy for integrity of civil servants is shaped and organised.
Eligibility Criteria
Professionals working for municipal, provincial or national government, for a donor organisation or NGO and who are involved in anti-corruption , transparency and accountability processes in relation to development and governance can apply.
