Rosa’s FGM Small Grants Programme is seeking applications from organizations across the UK.
Rosa is a charitable fund set up to support initiatives that benefit women and girls in the UK. The fund’s vision is of equality and justice for all women and girls in the UK.
Objectives
The grants will help organizations to :
- become more confident, more knowledgeable, and more skilled in tackling FGM within their communities;
- improve their skills in engaging with, and lobbying, statutory bodies to encourage appropriate responses to FGM;
- contribute to a unified movement across the UK bringing together a range of organisations engaged in tackling FGM.
Grants Information
- One-off grants of between £500 and £5,000 will be provided.
- The fund expects to make between 8-10 grants during this funding round.
Priorities
- engaging with and providing support to newly arrived communities;
- supporting previous recipients of Rosa’s FGM Small Grants to continue their work beyond the life of the programme and to become sustainable.
Areas of Interests
- Projects that will take place in areas with little coordinated activity aimed at tackling FGM;
- Projects targeting a range of affected communities;
- Projects that will use and promote rights-based strategies;
- Projects that will involve working with diverse sections of the community, e.g. men, religious leaders, young people, older people.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
- be a voluntary or community organisation.
- have a written governing document, e.g. a constitution or set of rules.
- have a governing body with at least 3 unrelated members.
- have a UK-based bank or building society account in the name of their organisation.
- bank or building society account has at least 2 unrelated signatories.
- have a safeguarding policy that has been ratified and/or reviewed by your governing body within the last 2 years. This policy must explicitly refer to FGM
