Deadline- 4 July, 2013
Proposals are invited for Support to Improved Nutritional Status of the Vulnerable Groups in Malawi – School Meals Programme under Europe Aid. The goal of this program is to improve the nutritional status of all Malawians, with special emphasis and particular attention to school aged and school going children as well as children below the age of 5 years through procurement and distribution of nutritious foods in primary schools and early childhood development (ECD) centres.
The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 2,300,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 14 months.
Issues-
- Proposed actions and interventions should demonstrate an integrated approach and should be designed to ensure mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues of HIV/AIDS, gender, human rights, environment and climate change adaptation.
- Proposed actions should be complementary to the already existing actions taking place in the country (including those of the GoM funded by the EU and/or other Development Partners). Applicants must demonstrate in their applications that they are both aware of other actions and how they will coordinate in order to create synergies and avoid duplication and contradictions.
- Linked to the point above, the proposals should build on Integrated Nutrition and Food Security Surveillance Systems (INFSSS) and other Monitoring and Evaluation systems by the Department of Nutrition, HIV and AIDS.
- The proposals should show linkages with the relevant Government structures, at all levels to ensure harmonisation and ownership.
- The proposals should clearly identify an exit strategy.
