All interested applicants are invited to participate in Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) in Kazakhstan for which the theme will be “From Idea to Market” Competition. This program is offered by CRDF Global. The objective of this program is to encourage students, researchers, and technology entrepreneurs to become involved in building new technology-based businesses in the ICT and Green technology sectors in Kazakhstan. The Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Program is made possible through grants from the United States Department of State.
Goals of this program-
- Fostering entrepreneurial culture
- Promoting development of relevant skills among technology entrepreneurs
- Supporting and enabling startup formation
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Applicants must clearly demonstrate plans to advance their technology product/service towards a commercial application. Basic research projects will not be considered. CRDF Global is strongly encouraging participation of young scientists and innovators. Projects that demonstrate potential to generate revenue and/or attract additional sources of funding will be given priority consideration.
- All applicants, including all team members must be legal residents of Kazakhstan.
- All projects must be technology-focused.
- Teams should be ready to showcase their technology based ideaduring the training and selected Team leaders should give business pitch presentation at the Startup Boot Camp&Business Plan Competition.
- Selected semifinalist and finalist teams must participate in the workshop in person. Teams need to have a designated team leader.
- Applicants’ research teams can be based at a university or academy of sciences institute. Teams may be based at for-profit entities if R&D is designated in the company charter as the one of the priorities.
