ACDI/VOCA is seeking applications from qualified and deserving candidates for the vacancy of Volunteer- Dairy Reproduction Specialist. Locations of this job will be based in Lebanon. Arcenciel requests volunteer assistance to improve dairy cattle farm management by training technical staff members on proper usage of ultrasound for detecting pregnancy of dairy cattle. The assignment will last for approximately one and a half weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.
Qualifications:
- University degree in animal science, veterinary science, or another related degree.
- Ten years’ experience in dairy cattle management with a strong background in conducting trainings.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Powerpoint.
- The volunteer should be prepared to travel for long hours in a bad road network linking the farming communities in the region. He/she should also be prepared to live in these rural communities without internet, air-conditioning and other amenities. The volunteer must also be prepared to work under dry and hot weather conditions.
