Applications are invited by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from qualified and deserving applicants for the job/vacancy of Deputy Director. Locations of this job will be based in Beijing, China with travel about 15% to 25%.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level management position with responsibility over multidisciplinary functions in global organizations
- MBA, Masters or Doctorate in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in international business strategy, business development and/or management (including negotiations with collaborators and managing complex processes)
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams to effectively achieve clear, yet complex goals and objectives
- Experience working for a global health or development organization desired
- Proven strength in structured problem solving and strategic business planning, with the ability to synthesize disparate information and critically analyze any situation
- Budget planning expereince required
- Skilled in group problem solving and collaboration to resolve problems with complex concepts in a dynamic setting
- Masterful at project management, including critical path thinking, detail orientation, setting priorities and planning
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams to effectively achieve clear, yet complex goals and objectives
- Excellent communicator, always seeking information pertinent to the issues being dealt with in the strategy, on the team or across the Foundation
- Strong experience in working effectively with decision makers as it pertains to strategy development and operations
- Strong technical and financial knowledge, including the ability to efficiently communicate data and results to inform sound strategic and tactical decisions
- Experience developing, evaluating, managing, and monitoring business plans, budgets and financial reports
- Problem-solving attitude and desire to have fun while doing great work
- Travel required (est. 15%-25%)
