International Organization for Migration(IOM) has invited applications from qualified and deserving applicants for the job/vacancy of Migration Law Officer . Locations of this job will be based in Geneva, Switzerland. Please note that this is fixed term position for a period of one year with possibility of extension.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- completed advanced university degree from an accredited academic institution in Law; PhD in International Law an advantage;
- minimum five years practical legal experience (or seven years of experience for candidates holding a first level university degree;
- experience in legal research paramount;
- excellent drafting ability and analytical skills, in particular ability to draft papers of high quality primarily in English and Spanish;
- sound knowledge of international migration law issues and literature;
- previous experience of having own work published an advantage.
Languages
- Excellent knowledge of English and Spanish as well as basic knowledge of French.
- Knowledge of other languages an asset.
