Applications are invited by UNDP Nepal from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Regional Energy Officer. The location of this job will be based in Biratnagar and Napalgunj, Nepal. Please note that duration of initial contract is nine months (with possibility of extension). This position is open for Nepalese Nationals only.
Required Skills and Experience
Education
- REOs must have a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Hydropower or Electrical Engineering).
Experience
- Must have five years’ working experience in the field of rural/renewable energy development, particularly micro hydropower.
- A REO must have knowledge of all the major sectoral issues and possess analytical skills in planning and management of energy development.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have working experience with a District Development Committee, District Energy and Environment Section.
Computer
- The REO must be computer literate, trainer and facilitator.
Language
- Proven abilities in English writing is required.
